Burning Man 2006: Walk with peace

BEFORE BM AND BRC: The aim of our project is to create hope on our planet for people living in fear, in order to give us all a better future.

The main attraction of our camp will be a ship's sail measuring 12m by 6m, (40 x 20 ft) together with a number of containers filled with water based paint. Visitors to our camp are invited to place their bare feet into the paint containers and thereafter, walk with peace, over the sail leaving their footprints behind them as a symbol of hope. We aim to obtain 2.800 footprints in total.
 
After Burning Man, it is our aim for the sail to travel to different places in the world where people currently live with fear in various ways, seeking to give them a manifest of hope in the aim to create a better world for all of us.
 
Population: We will be 5 people living in our camp.

Latest news: We have now got two sails from Sailorlife. The sails are from the ship Fulton, which we will bring with us to Burning Man in Nevada.

DURING BM AND BRC:
I am a virgin. A virgin burner. Who are you? I do this for the first time in my life. I have never travelled over the Atlantic Ocean and never been in the US. When I told other burnes this, most of them laughed. "This is not America", they said - and suddenly the song with the same title gave a lot of meaning to me. This is a totally different planet. A place on earth where everything is possible, where all people are great people, where people live with love not only for themselves but in particular also to all others, a place where money do not exist and where people focus upon what they can give and how they can contribute, a city - Black Rock City - which only exist because we created it, a playa which we all take care of and seek no moop (matter out of place). This is Burning Man...

AFTER BM AND BRC:
It is tough to go back. I dont really want to. Want to stay in the mirror of fantasy in Black Rock City, where I felt that I was so much alive. What am I in fact doing in DK. When you feel alive and burning inside, you want to go to the place, where all this happened. What if it is possible to create something like it in our world? What if the first step begins with me just doing it. What if that creates an action that also affects other people and that they also want to walk along that path... what if (to be continued)
